Abstract:
[Abstract] Objective To study the clinical value of application of pressurized lacrimal irrigation and probing of lacrimal passages in the treatment of neonatal dacryocystitis. Methods 50 children with neonatal dacryocystitis(64 eyes) were selected as the research subjects from February 2015 to April 2016 and were randomly divided into group A(n=25, 31 eyes) and group B(n=25, 33 eyes). The patients in group A were treated with probing of lacrimal passages therapy while those in group B were treated with pressurized lacrimal irrigation. The curative effect, complications and satisfaction rate of children′s parents were compared between the two groups. Results The cure rate of group A(93.55%) was significantly higher than that of group B(P<0.05). The incidence of complications in group A(4%) was significantly lower than that in group B(P<0.05). The satisfaction rate in group A(96%) was significantly higher than that in group B(72%)(P<0.05).Conclusion The clinical effect of probing of lacrimal passages is better than that of pressurized lacrimal irrigation in the treatment of neonatal dacryocystitis.
