<title xmlns:cf="http://www.microsoft.com/schemas/rss/core/2005" cf:type="text"><![CDATA[A survey on the statistic distribution of pulmonary embolism misdiagnosed diseases in China]]></title>

<description xmlns:cf="http://www.microsoft.com/schemas/rss/core/2005" cf:type="html"><![CDATA[<b>［Abstract］　Objective</b>　To study the statistic distribution characteristics of pulmonary embolism(PE) misdiagnosed diseases in China so as to reduce the misdiagnosis and missed diagnosis of PE. <b>Methods</b>　Documents on PE misdiagnosis published in Chinese-language journals between 2001 and 2004 were identified by the China Hospital Knowledge Databases in China National Knowledge Infrasturucture Web (CNKI-CHKD). Retrospetive survey study of general conditions, misdiagnosed diseases etc was made in patients with PE. <b>Results</b>　(1)A total of 110 documents with 1540 misdiagnosed PE patients were found. The patients related to the clinical, medical technology and others departments.(2)Among PE misdiagnosed diseases: there were 23 kinds of respiratory diseases (31.5%), 16 kinds of cardiovascular disease (21.9%), 6 kinds of nervous system diseases (8.2%), 5 kinds of surgical disease (6.8%), and 23 kinds of other systems disease (31.5%).(3)PE was misdiagnosed to more than 70 kinds of diseases and the first two places were coronary heart disease and pneumonia. <b>Conclusion</b>　(1)Respiratory and cardiovascular system diseases occupied the first two places in the statistic distribution of PE clinical misdiagnosed diseases.(2)It is necesary to improve the diagnosis ability to differentiate between PE and respiratory diseases and cardiovascular diseases by enhancing the cross-disciplinary diagnosis capability.]]></description>

<description xmlns:cf="http://www.microsoft.com/schemas/rss/core/2005" cf:type="html"><![CDATA[<b>［Abstract］　Objective</b>　To study the related information of fund theses in Chinese Journal of Epidemiology from 2005 to 2009, and evaluation its academic quality. <b>Methods</b>　The fund theses were selected from 60 issues of Chinese Journal of Epidemiology from 2005 to 2009, the funding ration, grade, regional, source of institutions, quotations and issues time lay distribution of fund theses were analyzed by using bibliometrics. <b>Results</b>　（1）One thousand seven hundred and two theses were published in Chinese Journal of Epidemiology during 5 years （except for review, lecture, case report, ect.）, the total number of fund theses were 811 （accounted for 47.6% of total theses）, the average number of fund theses in each issus were 13.5. （2）Grade distribution of fund theses were state fund theses 350（43.2%）, ministry fund theses 77（9.5%）, province fund theses 175（21.6%）, city fund theses 79（9.7%）, international orgarization fund theses 84（10.4%）, military fund theses 15（1.8%）, other fund theses 31（3.8%）. （3）Regional distribution top 10 ranks from Beijing（29.3%）, Guangdong（7.6%）, military（6.4%）, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Hubei, Shandong, Anhui, Guangxi. （4）The major sources of authors institutions were from universities（54.6%）, province institutions（17.3%）, ministry institutions（13.2%）, city institutions（7.6%）, military institutions（7.0%）, other institutions（0.2%）. （5）There were average 11.5 quotations in each paper, including 4.3 Chinese documentation, 7.2 foreign documentation, 0.6 selfcitation, and 5.8 quotation in the latest 5 years. （6）The average issues time lag was 193.4 days. <b>Conclusion</b>　Chinese Journal of Epidemiology has superiority in above six aspects, which confirms its quality as a core journal.]]></description>

<description xmlns:cf="http://www.microsoft.com/schemas/rss/core/2005" cf:type="html"><![CDATA[<b>［Abstract］　Objective</b>　To analyze the situation and the causation of academic misconduct in the journal of Guangxi Medicine, and finding suitable measures to avoid academic misconduct. <b>Methods</b>　Five hundred medical papers were selected randomly from 1358 medical papers of Guangxi Medical Journal between January 2011 and May 2011, Academic Misconduct Literature Check system (AMLC) was used to detect the rate of coincidence. The difference of academic misconduct of styles and classes in medical papers was compared and the reasons of text coincidence were analyzed. <b>Results</b>　69. 8% of text coincidence was found in the 500 medical papers, the coincidence rate was higher from 20. 0% to 51. 8%, and was particular higher in county medical units and nursing fields. The text coincidence was mainly distributed in the part of methods (including diagnostic criteria, criterion of therapeutic effect, therapeutic method and statistical methods) and discussion. The reasons of the academic misconduct of medical papers were attributed to the evaluation system of academic, author′s academic conduct, improper of reference citation and the common characteristics of writing form of medical papers. <b>Conclusion</b>　AMLC is an effective tool to detect the academic misconduct of medical papers, but the characterization of text coincidence should be determined in accordance with the actual circumstances of papers and expert opinions. The rightly differentiation for the threshold of reasonable application and copy are guarantee to the improvement the academic exchange and development.]]></description>

In order to improve medical researchers′ understanding of common statistical methods, reduce the errors of statistical methods and improve the writing level of scientific research papers, this paper summarizes the common problems related to statistics in the authors′ manuscripts submitted to <i>Chinese Journal of New Clinical Medicine</i>, and analyzes these problems based on the work experience of the author as a journal editor to attract the attention of authors, editors and reviewers to the problems of statistics, and jointly improve the writing quality of medical research papers.]]></description>
