Abstract:
[Abstract] Objective To compare the effect of 8 to 13 years old amblyopia with the rule astigmatism and against-the-rule astigmatism in the perceptual learning. Methods One hundred thirty-eight (274 eyes) 8 to 13 years old patients with rule astigmatism′s amblyopia and against-the-rule astigmatism′s amblyopia received perceptual learning. After 2 years perceptual learning, the effects between the rule astigmatism′s amblyopia and against-the-rule astigmatism′s amblyopia were analyzed. Results In the 8 to 13 years old astigmatism′s amblyopia, the number of the serious amblyopia in patients with the rule astigmatism′s amblyapia was higher than that in patients with against-the-rule astigmatism′s amblyopia. The total effect in patients with against-the-rule astigmatism′s amblyopia(62.7%) was higher than that in patients with the rule astigmatism′s amblyopia(35.4%).Conclusion Patients with against-the-rule astigmatism′s amblyopia has a higher total effect than patients with the rule astigmatism′s amblyopia in the perceptual learning.
