Abstract:
[Abstract] Objective To study the effects of dexmedetomidine on the anterograde amnesia in patients with different ages. Methods One hundred and twenty ASAⅠ~Ⅱ patients, age from 18 years to 84 years, 73 cases of male and 47 cases of female, who were dministered spinal-epidural anesthesia combined with dexmedetomidine and performed operation on hypogastrium(except for caesarean section). All patients were randomly divided into four groups: group A, group B, group C and group D. Dexmedetomidine(1 μg/kg) was infused intravenously for 10 min and the maintenance dose was 0.2 μg·kg-1·h-1. The anterograde amnesia degree of dexmedetomidine was assessed 24 h after the operation. Results There was no significant difference in the anterograde amnesia of dexmedetomidine between group A and group B(P>0.05),while there were significant differences in group C and group D compared with both group A and group B(P<0.05).Conclusion Anterograde amnesia occurs after using dexmedetomidine in elderly patients and with aging, the anterograde amnesia becomes more severe.
