Abstract:
[Abstract] CO external fixation technique, an innovation based on the development of traditional Chinese orthopedics, demonstrates good clinical efficacy in treatment of limb fractures and aligns with the biomechanical principles of fracture healing. However, the molecular biological mechanisms by which CO external fixation technique promotes fracture healing remain unclear. This paper discusses the molecular biological mechanisms of CO external fixation technique in promoting osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and vascularization of endothelial progenitor cells on the basis of traditional Chinese medicine theory and biomechanical principles of CO external fixation technique, and summarizes the signal pathways that may be involved in these molecular biological mechanisms, which will provide new ideas for the scientific treatment of fractures in traditional Chinese medicine and the experimental researches of CO external fixation technique.
